Homecoming for Newfoundlanders

Just back from a wonderful tour with an extended family group of McArthurs and Cormiers from Newfoundland.Their ancestors left Canna in 1820 and set sail for Canada. They finally settled the Codroy valley and now have come home to see the land of their great great grandfather and mother

We had a busy concert schedule taking in  Loch Lomond, Perth, Laggan, Ullapool,Skye and Glen Uig with a memorable trip over the water to Canna.Songs, tunes and dancing went on long into the night as we travelled the country round.

The musicians ranged in ages from 19 to 83 and spanned three generations.Charles had fun swopping dance steps  and songs with the group who had been brought over by Margaret Bennett who made their dream a reality.
