Castles Follies and Roman Walls

Just back from a lovely trip that took in Edinburgh, Oban,Barra The Uists ,Harris and Lewis,Glen Coe and Hadrian's Wall.

Barcaldine  Castle was great hit with it's tidal dungeon still available for unwelcome guests! Up to Oban to see McCaig's Folley and then across the Minch to Castlebay.

A  stroll on a Vatersey Beach then a visit to the McNeil's Castle in the bay was fun for this multigenerational group.

The changing landscapes of the Outer Hebrides was a revelation and  to end the day at Callanish and Dun Carloway Broch  as the sun was setting  was marvellous.

Back south via  Skye and Glen Coe  and then a visit to Vindolanda by Hadrians Wall finishing in Manchester.
