Just back from wonderful tour with Ed Miller and fantastic group from the USA.
We began in Ed's native country the Borders of Scotland and met up with Karine Polwart for journey through the Border Ballads.A memorable song or two from Karine in Smailholm Tower and then up the Yarrow to St Mary's Kirkyard.
On next to meet up with Brian McNeil to hear songs of a more contemporary nature in and around Edinburgh.Across the Forth and through Fife found us singing in Pittenweem and Kingskettle with Artie Tresize of the Singing Kettle.
Perthshire with an evening with the delightful Margaret Bennett and hike around Dunkeld was followed by a great gig from Jim Malcolm on the banks of the Tay at Kenmore.
North to Culloden and then to the village of Plockton for a wonderful concert from the students of the music school there. Then a day out on Skye with Ann Martin who told us of what life was like today on Skye and sang to us a selection of lovely Gaelic songs.
South then for walks in Glencoe and Balquhidder before a final gig from that popular songsmith Robin Laing.
Another cracking tour with wonderful weather, company and music all the way.
