Had great fun last week when I met a young girl from Peebles ( the town of my  birth) and her family who had come to see her namesake the female Giant Panda at Edinburgh Zoo.

I was with a film crew from Chinese TV who were doing a piece on the pandas with Tian Tian Brunton for Chinese New Year.

Tian Tian whose mother is Chinese and is married to a Scot, decided it would be a good idea to write to the Zoo when she heard that Tian Tian was coming.The Zoo then invited her to meet Tian Tian and the press eralier this month.

Tian Tian eats about 30kgs of bamboo shoots a day and

seems happy in her new home.
