Just finished filming with a French Televison who were shooting a documentary on Scotland.
The progamme entitled "Le Grand Tour" was made with the collaboration of French Media Star Patrick de Carolis and the lovely Breton Singer Nolwenn Le Roy.
Big thanks are due to James Thomson of Prestonfield who let me loose in his kitchen with his chef Kenny and a huge Dirk with which I stabbed the Haggis...I guess much of my Address to the beast might be lost in translation. But I was glad when it got to that part as I had been in front of the stove about an hour by then. I then had the pleasure of a personal tour of the Wine Cellar with some wonderful Bordeaux wines on show.
The crew were filming at Inverary Castle and Traquair and with author Ian Rankin in the Oxford Bar. We had great fun at Geofrey( Tailor) shop in the Royal Mile and thanks to John Webster for helping things go smoothly and taking a starring role.
Piping was supplied by Robert Hudson who stole away from his studies to star alongside Nolwenn.
I'll keep you posted but the show is due to go out on Wednesday 4 April on FR3 in France at 20.35...
